hold me, unwavering

I want a love

That’s neither obsessive nor cruel

One that changes with the seasons

For the better

Not the worse

We warm up, then cuddle up

We fight but don’t give up

I’d like to see the sides of you

As clearly as

You see the parts of me

I try so hard to hide from everyone else

Your vision,

Destroying all illusion

In our path

You let the facades fade

Out of view

To clear the horizon

For me and you,

Each day

An undoing or

a Renewal

We start fresh

Shed the rest

You place your bets on me

And I’ll give my best to you if you

Don’t ask me to

Always indecisive before,

I make up my mind around you

Finally, I know what I want

To wake up and choose you

Over and over

Again

I never would have considered

Any other

Than

To grow and change with you,

To roam all the rooms beside you

These hands,

This heart

Are yours and mine

Inextricably intertwined,

To be yours and still mine,

You make the impossible come to life.
